I recently acquired a Colt Commander. The serial number puts it at a 1947 manufacturing year. Everything is original, including the "plastic" grips. I would like to shoot it, but I don't want to ruin its value. If shooting it is O.K., could I get the trigger worked on without ruining its vintage worth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your gun isn't worth very much any way. Enjoy it as you will get little when sold.
In another post you say "colt today is worthless".

Did you even read the OP post, their gun is probably older than you, so yes it does have a collector value if nothing else.

Sorry you got a bad one, but saying they are all junk is just ridiculous.
