I can't.. She hasn't seen it yet. I'm off tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should take it to the range for a test drive just to make sure everything works OK...
I would not do that if I were you!!!!!:nonono::nonono: It is her pistol so let her be the first to try it out!!!

Oh,you gotta try it out,so it'll work when you give it to her. You don't want her to have problems when she goes to the range do you?

Lucky lady, and sounds like you're a lucky guy. You might have to change your name to STIguy2008!

I may in fact have to change my handle. I have two Series I Kimbers that are totally reliable and I love both of them, but since Kimber went to that Schwartz FP safety, they have lost me and I just can't warm up to them any more. It's a shame because they used to build really fine weapons. Maybe they still do, I just don't trust them. I live 30 miles from STI and I have a personal friend that works there, any warranty issues that might pop up are taken care of in a couple of days. I/We own three of them now, and I'm alread lusting after the next one. The fact that I can buy STI cheaper than Colt, Springer, or Kimber also has a strong influemce on my decisions of what to buy.

Kimberguy, or stiguy.:) Please post pics and give us a review when you are able (after christmas obviously). I was really considering one of those or an escort at one time.

If I were looking for a small carry for me, I would have considered the Escort. It's similar to a Ultra Carry I used to have. But, she's still a noobie and I wanted a pistol with as long a sight radius as possible and that would fit in the concealed carry purse I bought her. I was afraid she wouldn't shoot the smaller gun as well, and I didn't want something that she wouldn't take to the range and play with. Plus, with the steel frame, she can take it outand run it as hard as she wants to without suffering a lot of wear on the frame.. She does well with her Spartan and also with my Commander size 1911's, so I wanted to stay close to that size..
The Guardian is actually a really nice pistol. I don't own a .45 as nice as hers.. Something wrong here.. I guess I'm just gonna have to go out and get that Legacy..

*******UPDATE*******

Here's the plan.. The wife has been wanting a set of Dawson's FO rear sights on her Sparten, because she likes the ones on all of my 1911's. I'm going to go tomorrow with her Spartan to go have Dawson put a rear sight on it. She'll know about that because I can't sneak out with her gun, and she knows I was going to do that anyway. When I get home, I'll wrap her new one and put it under the tree, and I'll tell her she can't see it until she unwraps it Christmas morning. But, when she unwraps it, she's going to be opening her Guardian instead.

Man, I'd pay the price of a movie ticket to see video of THAT moment! Next election, I'm voting for you for Santa Claus.:notworthy:
