I went to the range Tuesday to get my weekly shooting time. It's an indoor range and there was myself and two guys shooting together a few lanes away. They were early 20's and very "gangsta" looking. I carry a SA XD40 and that was what I was shooting. (Yes, I love my 1911 but I feel more comfortable carrying my XD.) After shooting for a while I am reloading when one of guys says "hey, which XD do you have?" I told him the .40 and he says he is shooting his XD in 9mm. We are talking and he says he almost got the .40 but liked the accuracy of his 9mm. Well, his buddy starts laughing and points at my target which has about 80 holes in it in an area the size of my fist. One nice gaping hole almost dead center. I look at thier target and it has 40-50 holes in it but there are no two shots within 3 inches of each other. Well, the first guy just say mumbles something and walks back to his lane.

On the way home I was thinking to myself that the hours of dry-firing and range time have been paying off. It was one of those eye-opening experiences.

ha ha I was wondering the same thing:whistle:
I was thinking the same thing when I read Buds post and then yours:rofl:

I know I don`t get enough shooting in to have the kind of groupings that plowboy mentioned...but I stay proficient enough to know that if I do my job with any of my guns, the BG is going down.

Yeah, those homeboy sights are funny! Shown those to a few friends, they totally get it.

Good post, OP. There is certainly a difference between "professional" gun handling and just "kickin' it", as they say, at the range, eh?

You are right about the dry firing, one of those professional training techniques that really pay off.

OK guys,
I know I am nieve, are those things real. I have seen them in a couple of places. First time I thought them a joke ad. After a while I dont know.

No need to tell me to order a set & find out.:nonono:

It was a joke created by a teenager(birdman) in VA. The authorities took it seriously for a time and threatened to 'get to the bottom' of why this manufacturer was 'targeting our poor people', and 'advocating destruction on the street'.

It was pretty funny that the police said the flyers he stuck up were real untill it was revealed to be a hoax. Then they were OUTRAGED that hey had been had by a young boy!

Here's a link to one of many stories about it.
