Why Colt?

Someone asked me why I bought a Colt 1911. I said my great grand children will not have to explain about who made it. My Colts have been great even though I have some others.

Do you have a new Colt, I mean after the buy out made by CZ, new Colt?

If so the grand kids might need to know that it is a gun designed by John Browning and made by Colt
Colt has been owned by multiple corporations prior to CZ. CZ’s acquisition of Colt is NOT the 1st time Colt has been owned by “someone else”.

Thanks for the replies. This site needs a jump start.
I buy Colt 1911’s only if I think I can make money on them, I prefer a tight fitted 1911. I know they've been proven in war but they are just too loose for my appreciation of them.
Colt was the Gold standard for decades, & the 70-series is the basis for all the better clones still today. A classic Colt is like a fine collector muscle car - it'll always be valuable, reliable & admired by all.

Colt has always maintained their value and Colt is wanted by many.
Worst made gun I ever bought. Colt today is worthless.
