The main reason I joined this forum is the fact they are American and proud to be. Having been scolded like a 12 year old boy on that foriegn owned org. about being a proud American and asking people to BUY AMERICAN , I was not being rude or ugly and it just didn't set well with me. Told them they could cancel my membership because I didn't live under GREEK law. Knowing its like a casino,their rules or please leave,so I packed my USA made a** and left. PROUD AMERICAN VETERAN

I guess I haven`t run across the forum you`re referring to, but I joined this forum for diversity and hopefully new discussions and insight. The "other" forums I belong to have been a wealth of information, but lately I`ve felt a little bored. Maybe it`s just me...nothing that I can put into words. Anyway, I`m wishing well to everyone here, and saying thank you to those involved in organizing and moderating this forum. I`m hoping for success for everyone here and the sharing of knowledge and fun for a wonderful hobby and passion (for some).

I know exactly which forum he's referring to...never had much fun there myself.
I have been a member over on 1911forum.com for a while...and have tried my best to help others when I could (and will continue to do so)...1911forum.com is a great forum....but the owner seems to be AWOL, so that leaves its future in doubt.
So then I hear about this new 1911 forum...and PRESTO...here I am.

It's not hard to figure out which forum he is talking about as one I know of has a greek owner.

I think everyone should be proud of their country, so feel free broncoman. I fly my flag a lot. I will also say that anyone here from another country feel free to be proud of their country. I think we can all have pride.

I plan on this board being around for a long time and I don't plan on going "awol" unless something health wise happens. I'm just a retired postal worker, 11 year navy veteran, dirt under my fingernails, high school educated one of the guys trying to make a comfortable place for discussion. I'm glad everyone is here no matter what the reason and I thank all of you for joining us.

That would be why I stepped down as moderator over there, I couldn't stand the fact that someone in particular was dead set against me being proud of my flag and country, as you said, any person from any country should be proud of their country.

As a side note...I hope not to see this forum used as a venue for bashing other forums.

You are right, we should probably just let them march to the beat of the drum they choose and leave it at that.

Ive had a few go rounds over at that Forum with the word crap and over the american stuff .. he doesnt like that we believe in the 1st amendment since it doesnt apply in his country and its a international forum his excuse so what every i go there as there are some great people and Good info .. Gottripplets is one of them good guys over there

I havn't been banned from there so that's saying a lot. I think I have been banned from everywhere else at least once. I figure the only way I am safe is if I start a board.:biglaugh:

The last thing we want to do is start a forum,then bash all the others. Their house,their rules.

I joined here because 1911forum is down half the time,and it was starting to feel like re-runs over there...seems like the same stuff getting posted over and over lately,so I hadn't been posting too much. Even my Karma didn't get many takers.

I still like 1911forum and THR though.
