What shotty would you all recommend for good basic defense. This would be for strictly home defense so let me hear what ya think! Nothing fancy just solid peformance is what i am looking for and under $400.

Another vote for the remington 870 or mossberg 500. I like a 12ga with polymer stock with buttstock. The guns with just a pistol grip scare the crap out of me.

Yep, Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500. Mossberg will be less expensive, at least they are around here.
