What do you guys make of this?

Me and my wife both got one of these in the mail last week...I'm not sure what the purpose of it is.

My first thought is that it is an "identifier" (special license plate, sticker for the car) so the LEO's will know at a glance that we are legally armed citizens...I see that as double edged sword (sometimes good, sometimes bad)...all of the local LEO's know we carry and what we drive...small town...but this is from TSA (Tennessee Sheriffs Association). I understand that some of the $$ will be donated to charities, which is good...but I'm just not a trusting kinda guy, even if they did sponsor the "original idea" of CCW in Tennessee...What do you guys think? Here it is...

I think I am going to join, if they are in fact supporting CCW, I will help...but I ain't putting no stickers or license plates on my truck.

Boy! They really know how to tug at your heart strings!!

I don't usually send money to one of these organizations.
Send your money directly to one of the charities instead of going through the TSA.
My position on these whether calls or in print is

I will support my local SO dirrectly. By Fed law these folks only have to guarantee 20% of revenue to the "charity" while the rest can go to Administrative costs.

Take you deputies a HUGE briskit along w/ beans & rolls. They will appreciate it much more & remember it far longer.
I think they just want a donation. IL has something like that, and you get a sticker for the ISP you can put on your window. Doesn't help though, they still give me speeding tickets.:p
Wanting money, nobody will see any charity. I'm sure they will donate some, but it won't be noticed. Do as Longtooth said, take it directly to the sheriff department in your county.
I Agree: Support If You Wish DIRECTLY

Three out of four of my local LEO organizations KNOW I carry, and the fact that I carry a .45ACP in a 1911 platform: so does my current employer, in a roundabout way, although in that case, it's no one's biz but LE in Texas with my CHL. Bryan PD, Brazos Co Constables Office, and the local Department of Public Safety (read: "highway patrol" or "Texas state troopers"). I like to support LEOs: yet, like several have said, I think it's better done direct, not through some of these "bureaucratic" "charity" organizations... many actually are tied in with folks who do NOT support our interests as law-abiding civilian firearms owners.

Just my two cents's worth to add to the load. Y'all take care and be safe.

If you think it's a worthwhile cause, contribute. But I agree that I'd prefer to donate directly.

The sticker is a separate issue. In general, I DON"T think it pays to advertise when guns are concerned.
You guys have talked me out of it...I don't really have the $$$ anyway...I could use a few donations myself right now.
I agree with the notion of contributing directly to your local Sherrifs office or other local charity. As has been mentioned, admin eats alot of the proceeds of these larger institutions. SO, give $20 locally and it`s like giving $100 to the big orgs.
