Well my FusColt project is coming to a close and I am thinking about building something in a commander size with an alloy frame.

What are your thoughts on alloys like aluminum and titanium?

Should I go with a ramped barrel?

I have never had a problem with aluminum frames at all and I think it's hard to beat them for concealed carry. A ramped barrel is not a bad idea, if not that a hard chromed aluminum frame is outstanding. Ron Mahovsky will nickel plate then hard chrome an aluminun frame and after that the hardness on the rockwell scale is harder than steel frames. The ramp polishes up nice, is almost bulletproof, and the whole frame is very protected. I had it done to a colt lwt xse and loved it. I am going to have my lwt oacp done that way, I think it's better than a ramped barrel. Not that you couldn't do both.
