Lonnng time 1911 fan, Springfield is near the top of my list. Current ccw is an MC Operator. This pistol is as nicely fit and finished as any 1911 I've owned (and don't get my wife started on how many that is!). I've added a magwell off of a TRP, and just ordered a set of Wilson G10 grips. Otherwise, it is just like Springifeld made it. Very tight, but smooth and very accurate. Carry it in an IWB Com3 holster from HBE. Love the Armory Kote finish. It wipes right down and shows zero wear so far. Okay, what's your gun and story? Let's hear em.

An older Trophy Match worked over at Gunsite in the dark ages. VERY worn from duty/use, works superbly. Carried in one my holsters ( I make 'em, www.shottist.com is my web site).

I have a newer Mil-Spec. My first 1911, and I love it! Done with Glocks and wheels guns. The Springer fits my hand perfectly and simply feels "right." Currently, I'm looking for a champion or smaller size for carry to add to the collection. I'll add a picture soon.

I have a Loaded 1911A1 that I purchased in 2003 that is all over OD Green Armorykote that came with black rubber grips which I replaced with diamondwood grips from Wilson Combat. I am considering having it refinished Black over Gray and putting night sights on.

I have a 1911A1 Loaded S/S w/ a S&A Mag Well arched MSH.. with Hogue finger groove grips..Only has 500 rds through it.I keep for a IDPA CDP back up for my Kimber..

I carried the Loaded the longest of any 1911 so far i now carry a Baer but this one still hold a favored place..

i have had no problems with the 3 of um.

Howdy everyone....thought I`d jump in with what I have for a Springer. I just picked up about 7 weeks ago a new Parkerized GI .45 fullsize. I haven`t been able to shoot it much yet, between work and deer season here, but hopefully I`ll get a few more rounds thru it soon (70 or so now). The few rounds that I have run thru it have gone flawlessly. I couldn`t be happier.

I have a Micro-Compact G.I. "parker" that is in my CC weapon rotation. Other than 3-4 FTF from the first 2 mags, the weapon has functioned without fail thereafter. The only problem, is that it much prefers the SA 6rnd mags and no others.

There is something about a plain jane .45 that really speaks to me. It doesn't charge up your cell phone or have a microwave plug in for warm donuts, but it is ultra reliable and to me, that's what counts.

By the way, I'm very glad to see another 1911 forum....... nuff said. :wink:

Correction: It did have some feeding problems with two
"aftermarket" magazines I tried using in it. They are gone.

If I have function problems with any mags I clean them well and see if it happens again if it does I replace the insides with Wilson guts.

I've got a parkerized GI full size, and my daily carry, which is a stainless champion.

I have an older parkerized Mil-Spaec. It has the Bigger sights but does not have the lowered ejection port. The SN starts with NM liike the other mil specs. Also the Springfield logo is at the other end of the slide then what they are selling now.
I traded into this earlier this year. I did put a Wilson bushing in because I could wiggle the barrel just a bit too much for my taste. I really need to take a pic of it.
