So a few months back a good friend told me about a "lightweight Baer Commander" in a local shop. I went to take a look and outside of it being absolutely filthy, slightly neglected and a little bit of holster wear, it didn't look like it had been shot much. He passed, I didn't.

Turns out it was a TDP from Sept. '97. It had some seriously ugly blue Carbon Creation grips. I just ordered the correct grips it was spec'd with from Kim Ahrends; Tactical in coco bolo. This gun rocks! I shoot it better than my 5" TRS and carry it almost every day, it's been flawless with both ball and Hydra-Shok 230gr. JHP (standard pressure). Details= Bear Coat finish, aluminum frame w/ramped barrel, single side safety, genuine Novak sights (tritium in front only), checkered front strap, serrated top/rear of slide as well as the mainspring housing, hex head grip screws. Enjoy.

Bud, yes I'm still using it almost daily. It carries/shoots too nice not to .

usmcmp, as nice as the grips look, the pistol feels even better in the hand than any other grip I've ever used.

The idea of an accurate & lightweight .45 still sounds good. Great looks don't hurt either. ;)

The OP's pic is no longer visible, so here is mine w/ the original grips on it. Built in 1998, 1 of 100 Tactical Defense Pistols.
