Here it is fresh out of the box...

Very accurate...The fliers are my fault...from a solid rest it will put all 7 rounds in 1 not very ragged hole at 25 yards (with my reloads)...this group was fired offhand with factory ammo...

Here it is nearly 9,000 rounds later...

I carry this gun all day...every day...it has been run HARD...9,000 rounds in 7 months (I got it at the end of last August).

They can be a pain to get broke in though...it took about 1,500 rounds to get it settled in.
I had to run a 20# conventional recoil spring for a while (21# variable is what Baer puts in them)...but after several hundred rounds it will run with the factory setup...it hasn't missed a beat in the last 7,500 rounds.

Starting to show some character
LOL...It has plenty...the camera flash hides most of it.

I don't baby it...one handed slide racks on a truck bumper, fence post, rock, (or whatever is handy), throw it on the ground, slam the mag home on the side of a building...but it just won't stop running. I play hard...

If it were me...I'd wait until LBC gets settled in their new facility. It seems lately they have been having a lot of QC issues. I could be wrong but I think its because they are trying to move and keep up with production at the same time.

I would like to find a Stinger to hold before I buy one myself. I love the thought of the Commander slide and the oficers frame. I just wish Les would make them again in the LW frame. I did see one for sale on gunsamerica lately for a bunch of money. In the past 5 years I have only seen a handful of the LW Baers for sale. I just wonder if a Stinger is about the same weight as my Concept VIII? Then again the stainless Stinger is the one stainless Baer that I am missing in the collection.

Very nice, Ridgerunner. :bravo:
Thanks....

I took a "chance" and bought my Stinger without ever holding one...but it was just that..."a chance".

No worries though...it was love at first sight. I realize that opinions vary (as do needs), but IMO...the Stinger is THE CCW 1911... 34 oz. of pure fighting handgun.

They are a nice sized pistol. I would really like to see Les bring back the alloy frame, I'd love to have a LW Stinger or Commanche.

BTW, you mentioned Baer's quality with the up coming move, I just received my Concept IV and the quality is fantastic.

Glad to hear your Concept IV is in good working order...

The reason I said what I said about their QC is because it I have noticed an increase in complaints lately (or at least it seems so) on 1911forum. But they all make a lemon from time to time.

I like the weight of the all steel pistols myself...makes it much easier to shoot fast and accurate...at least for me it does.

I myself just took the plunge and am now waiting for a blued Stinger to arrive next week. Never held one but wanted to try one so here goes. I just hope it compares to my Helton custom Kimber Compact.

I called Les last year and asked if he would ever come back out with the LW framed guns and he said never again. Too much work and man hours are involved in the Lw frame. Missed the last LW Stinger that was for sale but for $2300 I was kinda iffy.
