Is this a standard 1911 part or is this proprietary on the Spartan? It looks like a standard 1911 part. The reason I ask is, I want to replace it with a metal one.

Should be a standard part, I don't believe the Spartan has any kind of goofy internal lock deals. Any MSH ought to drop right in.

I second what Zero said. It should be a straight out swap. I must admit that I do not know this from experience though. I have never read anything to the contrary.

It is a standard MSH so go right ahead. That doesnt mean it wont need fitting as with anything you put on a 1911.

Take it out and try another one if it is a standard M/H most all will fit without a problem.
Just keep your thumb over the Cap the strut lays on when you pull out the pin or you will shoot your eye out lol.

The Spartan takes a standard MS housing but the frame and holes are just such that there is a 1-2/10000 of an overhang. Found this out going to a 1 piece SA magwell/MS housing. Wish I would have purchased a 2 piece unit so it could be fitted.
