I've been lurking here for awhile and have finally registered.

I recently bought a V-10 and I like everything except it points low for me. Since I prefer the arched mainspring housing on full sized 1911s, I'd like to try one on this pistol.

Can anyone offer suggestions? Neither Brownell's or Midway seem to list them for the Ultra. Can any other size MSH be modified?

SA doesn't have a part in stock and allowed it could be months before they would get any made.

I'm about to tape something on it as a temporary fix, just to see if that's what I really want.

Thanks,

Rich

Are you talking about a Smith & Alexander Arched Mainspring housing to fit a Kimber Ultra sized pistol?

Wouldn't that be the same as an arched mainspring housing to fit an officer size 1911?

I don't know if the Ed Brown and Wilson combat wedge style would be offered for Officers size (if that crosses) but it might be another way to accomplish the same goal. They are sort of flat but the angle tapers from protruding at the heel and diminishes toward the grip safety.
