Gave a range orientation to 2 new members this evening. Traded for this 27 a couple of months ago & put a new front site on it. Today is the 2nd time I have shot it.
The 27.

I had 31 rds of WWB left so I took them. Shot 6 to warm up. I promice all 25 are on there. 10yds, 2 hands, single action. I wish I could blame the 6 & 7 on someone else but I guess I will take responsibility for my own actions.

Thats pretty darn good shooting if you look at it from a percentage standpoint...only 8 outside of the 10 ring.

8 aint acceptable for target shooting. I admit I dont shoot the wheel guns as much as I should. 1911 just feels better.
That means a 68. I got a few 68s in school & Daddy was not happy w/ that.

I had a beautiful 27 with a 5" barrel back in the mid '70's. Best shooting and prettiest revolver I've ever seen. Some policeman back in Fayetteville, NC sure got a good gun!

This one was a 5 & it has been cut back to 4.5 & recrowned. I really wish they had gone to 4". Sure would make holster hunting a lot easier.

Hi LT,

The way I figure it, your score was 95%.

25 shots @ 10 pts max possible per shot = 250 pts maximum possible

You shot:
1 @ 6 = 6 pts
1 @ 8 = 8 pts
6 @ 9 = 54 pts
17 @ 10 = 170 pts

Total pts scored = 238

238/250 = 95.2%

So, I'd score you at 95%, not 68%........

Nice gun, and good shooting.

Rod.

Ya Longtooth, I agree with them, I wasn't sure how you where counting your score, unless non-10 ring shots were 0.
Thats purty fair for 10 yards, its definitely what the gun was designed for, now if you are a perfectionist  then I think you REALLY need some practice

Just kidding Pastor, good shootin
