Kind of like when Blout bought up all the reloading components and some of the scope makers it was a good thing

this may be wishfull thinking, but, could we end up with one factory doing nothing but making barrels for all the "family" and doing them very well? or could we end up with one factory making the cheapest barrel possible? not long after S&W bought Thompson/Center, the first thing that was lost was the trigger stop adjustment screw. not a big deal, if the trigger was ok when it left the factory, but it has to be there to get the best possible trigger on an Encore. time will tell, but, you all know what "pre-64" means in the Winchester world
