The safety on my PT came loose yesterday. I wasn't even firing it. I just pulled the hammer back and noticed the safety was loose. Its the main safety and now does not operate the ambi safety as its pulled out away from the slide. I did remove it completely as it was easily pulled free. When trying to reinstall it, I can't push it all the way through to connect the ambi. Has anyone had this problem with their PT1911? If so, how did you fix it?

I'd hate to have to send it to Taurus.

Just when I though Taurus has really improved their products, this nonense happens.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Replace the Safety its MIM i wouldnt fool with it sounds like its ready to break .. if you must reinstall..

Check the connector for cracks or breaks check the pins where they connect to the paddles
