Para-Ordnance Black Ops 14 Rd 45 acp

My local GS has a NIB Para Ordnance Black Ops w/2-14 round Mags that he wants to trade me for a Remington 700 .308 AAC-SD Bedded in a Archangel AA700A Polymer Stock with the full aluminum bedding block with an AAC Cyclops Muzzle Brake installed w/ 2 - 20 round Magazines, The Rifle is also unfired and I just finished putting it together. Since I own a few 1911s including a Colt, Rock Island Remington and 2- P220 Sigs I'm not chomping at the bit to make the trade but a 14 round .45acp does have a certain amount of appeal but I have no experience with this Brand of 1911 so I thought maybe someone here could tell me the pros and cons of the Black ops Pistol. Price wise the guns are about $100 apart but he has offered to make that up in Winchester white box 230gr FMJ ammo, 100 rounds. So can anyone let me know if this sounds like a fair trade?
Thanks
Phil

I see your question is a month old and I'm a new guy. But I've got a Black Ops that I shoot IDPA with and a 700 that I shoot precision tactical with, enjoy both guns (now). My black ops needed considerable work to run/feed right. Feed ramp polished, mag release and catch, copious quantities of lube. Para mags are hit and miss, Mec-Gar mags aren't cheap. Dawson Precision and Brownell's typically has any parts you want in stock. Holsters are pretty difficult to find.

I personally wouldn't trade because I love rifle work, but the Black Ops is a fun gun and a good entry into IDPA or USPSA.

I owned a 14 shot para ages ago...great gun. accurate as all hell.

that being said, i'd be awfully hesitant to make that move...

unless he was selling the para to poor jakebrake....then, i'd let it go.
My Para P-14 was one of the first Para offerings-a kit gun frame that I put a Colt upper on. It ran perfectly, great LEO gun, had 5 mags for it (all fed 100 %). Took a feral hog with it in LA. Carry(duty) ammo was Fed 230 +p Bonded Tactical, but it fed everything w/o issue. Loved the gun but lost it in a burglary. Nearby SO recovered it on a drug traffic stop, but kept it since insurance had paid me. A SO SWAT member, friend of mine, carries it as his duty weapon now.

The Black Ops is becoming the unicorn especially in the hi-cap version. The super unicorn is same in Recon version. It’s a handful as it is a double stack .45. (meaning, no particular reason to pursue the 8rd. version). I think they are cool and Ben Affleck ices many bad guys in the Accountant with one. Anyway, quality wise, not a Les Baer, but hey it has lots of street cred with it’s PVD slick black finish. I wouldn’t run thousands of rounds through it, but the weekend warrior should be very happy overall.
