Bac1023 know you have me drooling on my keyboard, Next month my Bobtail will be done. It looks so close to my shooting partners Wilson Bobtail he just got in a satin finish. Does it shoot as good as it looks?

It shoots great. I love the barrels on the predators and I love Bobtail 1911s. Here it is with my Dan Wesson and Ed Brown.

Just a awesome collection the Bobtail really conceals the 1911's well. I have ed Browns Kobra also. I need to start taking pictures again. I am prepping for Sat.'s police L Match and deciding which 1911 to bring lol.

I wouldn't say one is way better than the others. However, the Dan Wesson, while nice, is not quite up to the Brown or Nighthawk in terms of craftmanship, fit and finish, or accuracy. Of course, they're much cheaper as well and still great bobtail 1911s.

The Predator and Kobra are similar in terms of quality and feel. The Predator was more expensive, due to the extra features, such as the barrel design, stippling, slide checkering, and hard chrome finish.

Lies! All lies! Dan Wesson is just as good as Ed Brown! I read it on the interwebs!

I can see where that may come from someone who has never owned an EB or similar,and then seeing that the fit and finish on the CBOB is so much better than,say,a production Kimber(mine sure is anyway). But the average joe or 1911 newbie might not see the finer details on a true custom/semi-custom pistol.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh: I agree totally. For someone that doesn't have a keen eye or feel for what makes an Ed Brown an Ed Brown, Dan Wesson is your guy. If you're accustomed to shooting the nicer guns, Baers, Wilsons, Nighthawks, etc, then you won't be satisfied with the DW version. Dan Wesson guns sure are nice, though, and that's coming from a Baer guy. If you don't need flashy, just functional, you'll be fine with a DW.

Great guns guys. Nighthawks are pretty cool. I got to check out a Nighthawk Dominator with titainium inserts the other day. If only I had the $2,400 for it. by the time i save up for that, we will be using Laser Pistols :biglaugh:
