Hi guys.. I'm new to the forum. Live in a place called the Isle of Man (my avatar is our national flag). We are part of GB but not part of the UK so we still have handguns legally here. I own a very nice Ruger SR1911 9mm LWCdr which after, nearly a year, still puts a smile on my face. I can't imagine wanting to own anything other than a 1911 style pistol. The British Army taught me to shoot pistols with a Browning Hi-Power but, fortunately, I was stationed in Germany for a time, right next to a US Army garrison. We had a great time on their ranges and shooting their service issue 1911's. That's where I fell in love with them - the gun, not the US troops (although they were good guys). So that's me. Approaching 70, married nearly 40 years. And, by the way, my wife is a vicar (pastor) of some 26 years standing and, when she has time, we shoot clays together. Looking forward to learning new 1911 stuff here. Cheers.
