Hello, new to the forum and I just purchased a 1911 108284.
I was wondering if there was anything on the net that has dates of mfg. for S&W's.

I have not found anything on the net for S&W dates yet, but if you call their CS and give them the serial number they will tell you (verbal) the date is was made for free.

Use caution when talking to S&W customer service though, their guns are warrantied ONLY to the original owner, DO NOT mention you are not the original owner or they will mark it in their computer with that serial number.

I tell them for insurance purposes I need the date of manufacture.

OK, Finally got in touch with S&W customer service and it left the factory on Oct. 30th this year.

Ok, I have been using this pistol for Wild Bunch matches. Ive got about 650 rounds through it ( 185 gr rnfp lead) and no issues. Goes Bang every time. And this thing is scary accurate.

My 108284 is equally accurate. It is far more accurate than I am. These are a sweet gun.
