Hello guys,

First off my name is Rob and i bought my PT 1911 about a year ago as my first pistol other then the 22 my dad bought me when I was younger. I was looking through the pics of the PT 1911 you guys all posted and I saw some with Taurus Rosewood grips and was woundering where you guys got them cause they look amazing... and I got a question do any of you know if it would be safe for me to fire Hornady Tap 45 acp+p rounds through my guy my dad got them for me when he was at Cabela's over the weekend and I cant seem to find if it would be ok or safe to use or just write them off and he also got me some shot shells are they safe?

Welcome .. Sure you can fire them just don't make it a steady Diet unless you respring the gun ..Fire some make sure they will function and then use the rest for carry as they were ment to be

Now lets see some pics

Hey Rob! Welcome. A few +P rounds won't hurt it, but like Bud says, a proper recoil spring will save the gun from being pounded to death.

Welcome to the forum!

I don't know about the Taurus brand grips,but rosewood grips are available from Brownells,Midway,and about any other online supplier.

Fusion Firearms has some amazing cocabola grips too.

Whatever you get,make sure it's notched for an ambi- safety. The grips may still take a little filing to allow the safety to work properly,just go easy on the sandpaper.
