Just thought I would let you all know that I made a pretty decent shot today. I had my Marlin model 25 bolt action .22 LR rifle, I was walking around the back yard, kicked up a rabbit, my dog chased it for a bit till I called her back, when the rabbit finally stopped, at first I thought it was a bit too far, then I thought, What the heck.

I kneeled down, took aim and shot, and the rabbit, took one hop and fell dead. I was rather supprised that I hit the darn thing, so naturally I had to go get a tape measure and see how far it was. 279 ft was the measurement, so 92 yards, I shot a rabbit with a .22 at 92 yard. SO, I have shot a rabbit at a farther distance than I have ever shot a deer. I have never shot a deer over 80 yards away, I have never needed to. I was actually feeling good the rest of the day after that.

Thanks for reading.

Great shot! From a .22? thats really great. I made a lucky shot yesterday off my folks deck and bagged a red winged blackbird from 20 yards with my RIA .38 super. It was raiding the feeder and my dad said see if you can hit him. So I did!!

I don't mean to hijack this thread...but I just made the "LUCKY" shot of a lifetime.

I was in my usual coyote hunting spot, which is up on top of a cleared hill...I can see 800 yards down the river bottom...I wasn't hunting....I went down there to scope out next years deer prospects, and I saw some nice ones too...

Then along came these 3 coyotes about 450 yards out...they had their eye on a newborn calf. I guessed the range to be 325 yards... I guessed about 25 yards short, the shot blew the front leg off the lead coyote...

The reason I say it was the "LUCKY" shot of a lifetime...I hit a coyote that was running full speed at 375 yards...I was standing (freehand) shooting my M&P 15 loaded with some my reloads (60 grain V-MAX bullets)

I finished him with a better aimed (rested on my knee) shot to the chest...

I'm not bragging...just sharing my "new best shot"

I don't believe it, not with one of those evil black rifles. :biglaugh:

My AR loves the 60 grain V-Max. :shades:
