I have been following this topic on the other forums and would like to see what reponses I get here. Who has 1 and what do you think about it? I have a very early one in .45acp that has the external extractor(Yuck) and has slide cuts on the muzzle end like a High Power? All factory normal Wilson tihings night sites and the rug 2 mags. So far I have carried it just about everywhere and love it. Light weight and it's a Wilson. Would love it better in .40 but no word on that yet.

So what do the other owners out there think of theres?

So far mine has become the perfect CCW gun for me. I have carried it for over 12hrs. at times and it's a dream. LW, 9 rds. of .45 and it's a 1911, what else could one want. I think it might be the best kept secert in the Wilson line up. I've gone threw alot of guns looking for the perfect carry gun for me and the KZ 45 Compact is it so far hands down. The only way it could be better would be if it ever comes in .40s&w. And I'm waiting.

Wow, those things look nice, I had to go look because you said it was a 1911, and I didn't remember the KZ being a 1911 platform. Sure enough it is, or they have modified the original KZ and made it into a 1911. What I really like is that they have made a high cap polymer framed 1911. I know someone has been making a polymer framed 1911 for years, but this one looks nice.
Shame on you, now I have another that peaks my interest, however, since its a Wilson, I know I can't afford it.

You might be surpised on the cost! I got one in a sweet FTF deal that I still can't get over. I should of bought a lottery ticket that day! The mags are not that bad for the price and it's a Wilson so you know it's going to be good. The grip is not a true 1911 feel, but it's not like a Glock or an STI 2011 frame either. It takes a little getting use to, but that different feel goes away, until you pick up a trun single stack 1911 of course. Great shooting too, I had a Bul M-5 years ago that was a tack driver, but it had that blocky feel like a Glock and was not a CCW gun by far. The KZ Compact is a perfect CCW gun, light weight, 10rds, and it's a Wilson 1911.

KZ-45 Compact

Just picked up a stainless KZ-45 Compact tonight. It must be a more recent version as it has an internal extractor. I would have prefered one with an external extractor so it matched my full size KZ-45, but was unable to locate one. Seems now that they are discontinued there are less of them on the market. I hope I like mine as much as you guys like yours.

I have a KZ-45 stainless and passed/missed a stainless compact because I was in Palm Springs, Ca and couldn't get back up to Wa. to meet. Guess I should have asked my daughter to get it and make it a present when I got back.
I'll keep looking and find one someday.
Jeff
