    Hi I came across this 1911 Colt. Is there a bushing or something missing on the bolt face. I know if I try and shoot it this way the primer is coming back?? Pics attached. Thank you for your help. [​IMG] [​IMG]

    That appears to be an earlier slide, missing the hardened bushing in that location. Can't remember when that area was hardened, doing away with that bushing. I definitely wouldn't fire it till that bushing is replaced...

    BTW, Clark used to sell, maybe still does, a hardened, gunsmith installed, bushing to center the firing pin impact on the primer. If yours is a later hard slide, it may have had a Clark F/P bushing.

    Thanks, I though it might be a bushing. I will see if a local smith can find and install one. Thanks again
