I just got a 1911 80% Frame from www.AR15plus.com, and i noticed that there is a cut in there that doesn't look normal above the trigger slot. It looks kind of triangular and very rough, as if part of it broke off... Here is how it looks from behind

and here's how it looks from the top down

Can I still use this frame or is it FUBAR?

It looks to be in a non-vital area, but what worries me is that if there was enough force to cause that, what did it do to the rest of the frame?

I believe that was from the casting and subsequent magazine space machining and disconnector machining. I've seen it on a couple frames and it is not a problem--a no stress / no contact area.

The majority of my "bought new" 1911's have this. Nothing to worry about. Tracy
