I am replacing the stock barrel bushing on my CBOB with an Ed Brown drop in.

It fits the slide just fine (snug enough to barely use a wrench) but it's really close on the barrel. I can slide it back and forth on the barrel with my fingers but I can hear the machining marks on the barrel grating against the bushing. Is this about right?

As long as it runs and you don't see galling marks it should be OK

Keep a close eye on the barrel and see if you get any unusually high amounts of wear in small areas, may need to be smoothed up slightly. Otherwise, its probably ok.

Now if it whistles when it farts, you got problems.
