I just joined yesterday, I've been a member of m1911.org for almost 2 years and 1911forum for a year and a half. I see few familiar "faces" around here! I have a number of Colt 1911's, my most recent purchase being an 01911 WWI Repro and a New Agent. I'm an avid deer hunter and own a number of long guns. I also have 3 Armscor 1911's, my most recent purchase being a Nickel 38 Super RIA. Fun guns include: an M1 Garand, a KelTec PLR 16, A Uberti Cattleman 45LC, A Benelli Nova w/ 18.5" bbl, A Yugo Mauser (98 copy), several muzzle loaders, 3 Colt Revolvers, A Ruger 10/22, A Glenfield 39 .22, an SKS and ....well I'm sure to be forgetting something but I can always talk about that later. I'm also a motorcyclist, I own a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster.

Welcome Jeff, from not so very far away.

Whattya do with that .45 Cattleman? Get another one and come play Cowboy sometime... Or better yet you can use one of mine and see if you like it.

Between you and Snag you have a brace of .45 LC and I can loan you guys a rifle & side by side 12g for a shoot sometime.

I take it you're a cowboy action shooter? Where are the meets located? I'm in Saint Paul, but I work in the Northwest suburbs. What kind of rifle is required? I'm picking up a 60's vintage model 94 tomorrow.

WooHoo! Seems like I got a nibble on my line... Lessee if I can't set the hook a might bit & reel 'em in to check out a shoot.

Here is a few links to clubs we shoot:

www.cedarvalleyvigilantes.com
www.crowriverrangers.com

There are more but those two are a start, there is a great club in New Ulm that feeds us real good but I dunno about there website being real great. I don't see a problem with priorities like that.

Not to threadjack your welcome but CAS requires two Single Action Revolvers, a lever action rifle chambered in a pistol caliber, and a scattergun that is either an internal or externally hammered Side X Side, a Model '93 or '97 Winchester Pump or clone, or a Model '87 Winchester Leveraction shotgun or clone.

I'm not sure if that particular '94 you refer to meets the pistol caliber requirement for CAS but could be used for Long Range but those are different matches I don't attend but the Redwood Regulators hold them monthly.

The toggle link rifles like the '66 & '73 rifles are pretty popular but a bit expensive compared to the '92 and '94 style. The "Lightning" style pumps are allowed too but are pretty fussy to get running right and are not popular. I shoot a '66 that is pretty slick.
I didn't shoot much last year but if you were to look at archived scores on either site my category is Gunfighter and my alias I shoot under is Jackson Bob(SASS rules require an alias) It was coined as "Jacks' son Bob" as I was introduced to my Dads' friends when I started shooting with him... He goes by Gentleman Jack. '06 was a pretty good year for me.
