What type of fine tuning do I need to do if the hammer will drop when the trigger is squeezed with the hammer at the half cocked position?

Not that I rely on the half-cock, but nice for it to function as designed.

Take it to a gunsmith...its probably a combination of things...hammer notches out of spec, sear and disconnector issues.

That sounds worse than it is...but unless you are a gunsmith, it would be easy to make it worse, instead of better.

My mouth went into gear before my brain...(again)

I should have asked... What kind (brand) of pistol is it?

I see...

I'm not qualified to tell you what you need to do...besides that, I don't know exactly what you need to do without being able to look at it.

Good luck

I got it fixed. I was using a Clark sear spring and the split leaf for disconnector and trigger return was binding the disconnector behind the sear legs. A small rearward bend of the trigger return portion of the spring fixed the problem.
