I was thinking about getting one of Jerry Kuhnhausens` books on the 1911`s. Since I`m only going to try a few basic mods, which volume would everyone recommend? Vol 1-the Colt .45 or Vol 2-The M1911/1911A1? I thought I had seen discussion about these books here and I tried a search on this and came up empty.

1 is the main one you need but Both are worth it

While not to much of a gunsmithing book Pat Sweenys Gun Digest Book of the 1911's are worth the price there are 2

Thanks Bud, I`ll start with the Jerry K Vol 1 and go from there. My budget this close after x-mas is tight, so I wanted to at least get started in the right direction. Knowing me, I`ll have all of them as time passes.

Don't forget Stressfire,Tacical Pistol shooting,Surgical Speed shooting just to name a few others I have.
