Good to All,

As a .22 bulls eye shooter (Olympic 25mtr) I’m finaly allowed to buy a large caliber gun after summer. ( don’t ask, Dutch law pfff)
I currently enjoy shooting a Kimber Eclipse (from a friend) and a club Colt 1911 a lot. The Kimber is tuned with a competition trigger which makes is a delight to shoot. Love the caliber(.45ACP) and handling of a 1911, I’m positively surprised on the groups you can shoot single handed at 25 meters.
I joined the forum to learn all about the 1911 and to find out what is the make and model for me to start with. Looking in the 1 to 2K euro price range.

I imagine Dutch gun laws are pretty strict - gotta keep it locked up @ the clubhouse, I suppose?

We can keep them at home in a safe once you obtain your permit. Obtaining a permit is a lengthy process. The police visits you once a year to check the serial numbers and proper storage. And the maximum is 5 fire arms.
In short, yep it is strict
Wow. I had no idea.
Welcome to the forum BasM. New to this forum myself.
