I said I was having some FTRTB issues awhile back, but I was chalking it up to a mag problem(i have yet to prove that theory) and it being a brand new gun. But last night I just happened to notice my extractor looked out of kilter.So I put my index finger on it and gave it a little nudge the other way, and it just spun `round to the other side. These pic.'s are of the extractor as far as it will go clock-and-counter clockwise. Could this have much effect on the slide not returning to battery completely???
-And what's my next step.......do I replace the extractor, replace the firing pin stop.?? This is a brand new gun, with about 50 rounds through it.

Wow yeah for my taste thats wayyyyy to much As said above you can return to RIa

But a Correctly Fit Oversize Firing pin stop will correct that

Get you a Wilson Bulletproof FPS, or a Ed Brown Hardcore FPS, or the EGW oversized flat bottom FPS. They will all require fitting, and that should help some, but the FTRTB may be other problems. But that is one problem we know without a doubt, so start small with what you know.

Ivan and Ray are good at repairing stuff for ya, and I expect if you talked to them, and told them you were gonna replace the FP stop, they'd more than likely still honor the warranty if that didn't fix it.

If'n ya don't wanna try it yourself, then by all means send it back.

I'm with triplets on replacing it myself. Nothing against armscor products, but I would like a good extractor like the ed brown. I would also consider an oversized fp stop at the same time, and get a reasonably priced extractor adjuster from brownells as it's always a good thing to have. That's more than you had probably planned on doing and I'm sure they would fix it under warranty, but if it were me I would go with a top notch extractor.

a EGW FB pin stop and a ED brown hardcore extractor would be my choice .. unless cylinder and slide make one for 38 super a extractor that is

Sorry Gentlemen, my fault,I dropped the ball:redface:. I should have given the proper update to the thread. Ray was right on top of it. I thought it would be best for them just to send me the parts and I'd slap it together.He assured me that Arnell would try to tune them on a substitute slide in the absence of mine so that it was as close as humanly possible to correct and the need for me to "fit" them was minimal.I guess you could say "Plug & Play" as it were. :notworthy:I have not seen them yet,but I'm starting to fear someone is messing around with my mail. I've asked for a re-issue item 3 times now(not ria/armscor)(a whole other company,unrelated) and have yet to see hide or hair of said item!!! I will update this thread as soon as the parts come in and the gun goes bang again. The only way he could have done more, would have been just to send me an entirely new gun. Which ain't gonna happen! However.......Ray...Ivan....if you want to...................:rofl:

AZ does that answer your question?

I can vouch for Ray and Ivan, they stand up for their product so much that they will go above what they say just to make the customer happy.

Well Speak of the Devil, and he shows up! The Extractor and Firing Pin Stop just came in from Ray, and I'm giving the F.P.S. a little file work so it will clear the Ejector, but regretfully I might not get a chance to shoot it this weekend,but I will try. I promise as soon as I do,y'all will be the first to know!

Is the RIA rep just going to hope this guys question just goes away?
Shame on you AZ!!!!!!:whistle::smile:

You can bet that if Ivan and Ray are aware of a problem that it will be addressed promptly!!!! They do not always have the free time to check the forum so a phone call is also a good idea if there is a problem!!!:smile:

Let's go easy on AZ kids,I should have updated my own thread but I didn't so it's partially my fault. I just left it out there hanging. While someone is paying attention, is there a minimum clearance I should keep between the ejector and the fps???
