If anyone here is good with Photoshop, please enter our contest to create the new 1911Auto logo! Open to all forum members, Mods and Admins who think they have what it takes. The only requirements are that it has to have a 1911 or 1911-A1 (of any make or model) in it. But remember, if it ain't steel, single stack and single action, it isn't a 1911! Also, the name of the site, 1911Auto, has to be displayed somewhere in the logo. Be creative! The winner will be determined by the forum members. We'll all vote on the best after we get some good entries. Even if you're not good with Photoshop, please feel free to submit ideas for other, more computer-literate members to use or expand upon. Once you're finished, post the logo here in this thread, or post a link to where we can find it in order to have it considered as our new banner, and voted upon by our members!

From all of the staff here at 1911Auto, good luck!

The finished image will need to be about 250-300 pixels high. If it is larger than that I will size it down. The largest it can be is 780 pixels wide but it does not have to be that wide at all.

For those with talent. How about a number of different 1911's spread like a deck of cards. Not necessarily curved but straight across the top, with 1911auto somewhere within. And of course, not so many.

Could you use pictures of members' 1911s in a collage type of format with the name of the forum superimposed over the images? Or limit the pictures to be from supporting members (motivation to help out)?

If someone designs one the full 780 pixels wide there has to be a spot where it can be chopped with just background, blank etc. That's because it has to be chopped in two pieces, not necessarily the same size and a thin section, about 2 pixels is used to create an "expanding" background so that it is fluid. So it will fit the screen on everyone's monitor. Someone with a real small monitor will see it "unchopped" and wide screens like mine will have a wide filled in space.

Funny that I cannot. I went into your post, got the photobucket address, and copy/pasted it. Just got the spinning wheel. Must be on my end. Anyone else see or not see Traders pics??

Good, Trader sent them to me in an email. I like the first one a lot. If we could get many different brands and types for the second one that would be cool too.:shades:

I sent a trouble report to PhotoBucket. I don't know what's going on. All my images are gone from previous posts! Maybe they locked me out because of the sites name in the image??? They may have thought I was trying to post a commercial enterprise??? I'll let ya know when I know.
