I have owned several colts, but don't own one right now, and that may change with this lwt officers model. I have owned a lwt officers model before, my first colt by the way, and after a couple of things they are good dependable guns. This one may be bringing me back and the price on the tag is not the selling price it's 100 less, it also has 4 mags with it.:

Yep, I will have to get a kings guide rod/bushing/reverse plug and ismi spring if it does not have them before I shoot it though. I wouldn't own an officers without putting them in.

I always knew I would be back and this probably won't be the only one if it comes my way.

The officers models are very nice carry guns.

I highly recommend the kings 306a kit for any officers model. They had a problem, at one time, with the plug breaking and the guide rod and spring flying down range. This kit uses the reverse plug and eliminates that. It also has the clip capture guide rod that makes it easy to break down. It DOES take a little modification to the slide, but it's easy:

I also highly recommend the ismi flat wound spring. It's supposedly rated for about 20,000 round where the normal officers springs are rated for just a few thousand. The only thing is it requires a 1/4" guide rod (like the kings) or it won't work. They have their own kit (which may be the kings, I don't know) but I like the kings as I like their bushing for the officers:

you have to click on the officers link.

Just tossing this all out there for info.

Appreciate the info as I didn't know about the problems. Will definitely look into the kit. Thanks

That's the only thing. The one I had before was the enhanced version and this one is not. I like them cut up under the trigger guard, but I can live without it. I trusted my life to my other and I have no doubt that I will this one when I get done with it.

I think I agree with you. It looks pretty good to me, and I think for it and 4 mags 550. is a decent price.

Very nice Jerry, real good price IMHO.
A LW Officers happens to be my carry gun presently, I went with the EGW, "Carry Bevel" bushing and the Clark drop-in recoil spring plug, makes for a nice package. I have made a few other minor mods to mine.

OD, as far as I'm concerned you can't do any better than the egw thick carry bevel bushing I have put them in several guns and the sigs (at least some of the serial numbers) came with them. I want to get it (hopefully) before I decide exactly what I will do to it. I know it has an after market beavertail and thumb safety but I don't know about anything else by looking. I'm guessing the trigger is also.

I really did like the officers I used to carry but it was one of those "I want something different" moments. My worst habit is that guns typically just stay with me for a while before they move on to someone else. I have to change that.

With the exception's of the 3 things you mentioned Jerry, the little Officers looks to be pretty well stock otherwise.
I hope you can get it amigo.

It's getting shaky, the guy is a jerk. I need to keep my big mouth shut until I actually get the gun in my hands.

Maybe, I'm not saying any more until it happens though.

Well guys it looks like the answer is yes.....the little pony is going in the mail today. I will probably have it on the 2nd.

Yea, that's kind of what I did Jack and I think it's a good deal. That is unless I get it and it's carved out of a bar of soap or somehting.

Jerry,

Glad it's coming home.

Been thinking about your first post on this thread and it occurred to me that it's almost sacraligious (?Sp) to run a 1911 site and not have a Colt. Just kidding. sounds like a great deal. Tracy
