Cheap Firearm Hobby

Several years ago after many years of buying/trading guns I was cleaning out some drawers and ran across several belt buckels that had accumalated over the years mostly different firearm makers eg. colt, ruger,s.w ;also long guns. I decided to place them in a glass wall hanging display and as time went on I would pick up others at yard sales ,flea markets etc. These buckles came in brass, silver, gold tone with varying shades of patena. I really never thought that much about gun makers advertising on buckles but you would be surprised how many and their different shapes and sizes. I get as much satisfaction finding a buckel that I dont have as I do finding a rare gun yet its a LOT CHEAPER and my wife helps find/purchase them also where she'd never buy a gun for me. I know people collect buckels but mine is 100% firearm related. Just thought some of you might consider trying this for a cheaper hobby and challenge. If anybody collects them also I have some duplcates I'd be willing to trade for ones I dont have. Thanks

Sounds cool to me, great idea.

Got a pic or two.
Digital camera is on the blitz. Will get my daughter to take a picture and post as soon as possible. Also forgot to mention that most makers have released different styles of buckles over the years. I have paid anywhere from $1.00 to $45.00 with most being around $4.00. Have never bought any off of e-bay but that would be a good starting point, I just like scrounging mine up in unlikley places. I dont buy the cheap pewter metal types because they dont have the quality and good looks as brass, silver, gold, etc. hanging in a display case.
Don't get me wrong I'm not in the buckle business and have no desire to be, just want to turn you on to a fun hobby thats a lot easier on the pocketbook. Currently in my case I have (4) Colts;(3) S&W;(2) Rugers(1)Browning;(2)Remingtons;(1) Ithaca;(1) Savage;(4) Winchesters;(1)Sharp Rifle;even have (1) Crossman Air Gun. All buckles are different in size and age which shows in their color tone. Also have a Zebco fish buckle ,Wells Fargo, Pony Express and a authinic "offical" Texas Ranger.
