Baptist Preacher.

Carry 24-7 & that means at church too.
At any given Service we will have half a dozen + out of an average attendance of 75 - 80. Several Ladies too.
Our Church has an official Threat Response Plan that we review once a yr at least.

How about your Church???

Its illegal to carry concealed or otherwise in a church in NC
:hairpull:Used to be in Texas too. Schools still are here. When I go to a Grandchild program I always carry a cane. Excellent for contact distances but not worth a rip down a long hall against a rifle.:hairpull:

I agree, it ain't worth a hoot. Can't carry in a church, federal building, nowhere on any school property, banks, any facility where alcohol is both sold and consumed (not that this one matters to me), and anywhere that is posted not to carry.

as for the hairpulling emoticon, I ain't got no hair to pull out, so I just have to grin, grumble and be aggravated.

However, at the church I used to attend, there were at least 3 of us that would tell gun stories, and compare new pieces after sunday service ;)

I respect everyones opinion here greatly, However I just dont think carrying a pistol in church is proper. I'll take my chances without. If I get blown to Hell or Heavan what better launching pad ? Maybe it was the way I was raised , not sure, but they better not push my limit with my hands , then all bets are off!!!

Not to start a religious discussion and no harm meant, no offense taken, but just a little something to think about Bronco, and I will respect your decision either way. But we didn't get our religious freedom as the country was started for by not fighting to the death for it. You would think that church would be a safe haven, but there are wierdos out there. I agree that its a good place to "go", but its also a good place to make your stand too.

Here in Michigan, church carry is prohibited UNLESS permission from the Pastor or church officials is granted. So far, I have not asked at my church, but as the weird things keep happening around us at other religious organizations, I`m feeling the need to ask that question.

I pastor a country church. It's a little like a step back in time. People still believe in personal responsibility and self protection. Some carry, I do and others will lock their guns in their vehicles. I guess it might seem alittle strange to some but it isn't uncommon to see people showing off their newly aquired firearms to one another after church in the parking lot. The Bible says the hireling fleeth when the wolf appears but the shepherd will give his life for the sheep. I know which one I want to be and hope to have the tools with me to do what needs to be done.

If you need a preacher to recomend that you be given that permission to carry there I may just know one who would do that.:wavey:

One day I just may need that. Right at this moment I am considering a different church, since I disagree with a ministerial situation at my current church. I`m quite certain that the church I`m considering will allow carry. The pastor and many of the members are avid hunters and shooting sports supporters. Granted, that in itself doesn`t mean that carry would be allowed, but I think the chances are better than where I am now.

GottripletsNC,

I'll have to double check, but IIRC when I went thru the CCW class it only said you couldn't carry on church property if it had a school attached (kinda same thing as carrying on school property). Tracy
