My pretty wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary yesterday. I treated her with a day at the spa, some chocolates, tickets to a concert (that we never made it too but that is another story) and we went to the casino boat for the remainder of the evening. Due to her work schedule the last couple of weeks I didn't get too upset about not getting anything yesterday.

Today I woke my wife up and told her I was going to one of our favorite gun stores that we like to go to. She said she wanted to go as well. She got out of bed got dressed and so on and we took off. When we got there I started walking around while she was talking with one of the guys working there and looking at a couple pistols.

She also kept walking over to me and wanting to know what I was looking at. I would say nothing and keep looking. Later I asked to look at a Ruger LCP that they had in stock. She walked over to me and asked is that what I am buying you for our anniversary. I kept looking at it and finally said yes, happy anniversary to me.

She bought me the Ruger LCP, and a extra mag to go with it. I love my wife. While I was there I was also looking at a EAA Witness in 10mm. I decided that I had to have that as well. So it came home with the ruger and some ammo to take both to the range.

Happy anniversary. How do you like the little ruger? I am very interested in getting one myself. I really wanted the Kel-Tec p3at, but since the ruger came out, I think I like it more. I haven't seen one in person, but it looks to have a better fit and finish and I like the addition of the slide stop.

Happy anniversary! Sounds like it was a good one to me. Casino boats - are you in the midwest? We have more "boats" around here than we need. It's getting to be like Las Vegas but without the cheap food. :crazy:

Yeah, I am in Missouri about 13 miles from the nearest town that is where the middle of nowhere comes in. I love it. Anyway, I was a little anxious about the LCP due to some bad posts I had read about them. But I must say I had no problems at all with it.

I went in the backyard (eat your heart out city boys) to my range set up a police target and stepped back about 7-10 feet. I kept moving back a little at a time. I put 50 rounds of Magtech 95 grain ammo through it without a single problem. I also shot the X ring out of the target. I am happy with it.

The slide lock is manual though you must engage it yourself. The slide does not lock open after the last round is fired. It is supposed to be this way. The release is a little touchy I was messing around with it earlier trying to get a Hogue grip to fit on it (no luck) and hit the slide release leaving a nice pinch on the palm of my hand.

But all in all it is what it is and I like it. FYI I have had Kel-Tecs in the past and yes I do like the Ruger better. That is my opinion for what it's worth.

I am still working on the pictures living in the middle of nowhere also has disadvantages like only having dial up internet.:bawling:

You're a lucky man. I've shot the LCP and found it to be a winner. I am also a fan of CZ style pistols (own 2). We like Ameristar casino. Tell Will howdy.

I liked it alot as well. It really feels good in my hands but I do have large hands. Not too mention the 10mm did have some punch to it.

That must have been a handall JR. I saw a pic of a handall jr on an lcp somewhere and it looked pretty good, but I have no idea what he had to do to get it to fit.

I don't recall the box said it was for pocket autos and had several listed. I thought well....maybe. It was about 1/8 inch too long, and didn't have anything in place to allow for the mag release. I would have had to cut on it more than I wanted to. :hairpull: The more I think about it though the more I think I should have gotten it and just carved on it until it fit.
