·Kind of a wierd question, I know, but I thought I'd ask anyway:
I know that most semi-custom pistol manufacturers have a sole owner. Wilson Combat has Bill Wilson, Ed Brown has Ed Brown (duuuuuh) and Baer has Les Baer Sr. What happens when they pass away or retire? Do these companies default to someone else like, say, a production company, or do they just disappear like full custom shops? If they will continue on, who takes over? Baer Jr, Wilson's son, etc? I know the way Nighthawk is set up ensures that it's here to stay, but what about the others?
I know this may be one of those questions with an obvious answer, but I haven't been on the semi-custom circuit for more than a couple years, and I haven't ever seen one go out of business before. So, anyone know what happens?
