The department that I retired from held a news conference yesterday to announce the solving of 5 cold case homicides in our community dating from 1977 to 1982. Lifted a huge black cloud over the community. All female victims where the guy broke into the home and waited for the person to return. They got confessions after a nearby department popped him for another 30 year old cold case. My dept matched dna and a palm print to one of the crimes. When confronted, he agreed to plead if the death penalty was off the table. He's 63 now and has been in prison since 1983.

Too bad they couldn't just convict him without his confession on one case and have him pay the ultimate price for murder.

He confessed to a couple of cases that were not in Cape Girardeau MO. It has not been made public if he got any agreement about the death penalty for those cases. I'm hoping that he didn't. Everyday we learn about more of the sick things that he did. At least his confession is bringing closure to some long open wounds in our community.

A job well done! Remeber: He will be required to stand before The Master and pay for his evil deeds! He cannot avoid the wrath of God!

For those of you who have not heard an update, this animals body count is up to nine. There are probably more that we don't know about yet. The prosecuting attorneys have agreed to waive the death penalty in return for confessions in all of these cases. Kentucky has a kidnapping charge against him that may bring a death sentence.
