Has anybody tried out the S&W 1911 DK? Are those groves or is it checkering on the front strap? I use a Springfield TRP as my spare gun at IDPA matches, but I want to replace it with something closer in features to my competition gun (Wilson Combat).

Pro Series

It's kind of slow here on the S&W section, so I may be talking to myself, but I decided against the DK. S&W customer service tells me it is just a cosmetic package. So, I ordered a Pro Series 1911:nuts:. It's not to the P.C. level, but it is a step above general production. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm excited about it. Ambi safety, 4lb trigger, hand fitted and polished parts, and adj. fiber optic sights (the rear has fiber optic inserts also:shades:). It's a special run of 2008 IDPA pistols that you have to 50% prepay and order direct from S&W, and you must order it this week.

I backed out on it, Im going with a new one later on,
It was in the consignment section I got to looking at it and found somthings that didnt agree with me like the barrel had little dings in it as if it were ran with gravel in it.
The mags were not stock wilson combats, they were novaks which im not used to.
